Andrei Gheorghe

Andrei Gheorghe is a PhD student pursuing a joint doctorate with the University of Bucharest and l’École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales Paris. His main research interests concern the study of populism, illiberalism and nationalism in East European countries, especially in Romania and Hungary, while his PhD thesis regards the building of the concept of the people in populist discourse in Hungary and Romania between 2010-2020 in a comparative approach. He recently published the article “The Political Instrumentalization of the Collective Memory of the Communist Past Against the Rule of Law in Romania between 2017-2019” (Studia Politica, 2024 DOI: 10.62229/sprps24-2/6).
