Claudia Annovi is a PhD candidate in Sociology and Applied Social Research at La Sapienza University, Rome. Her research interests include the nexus between conspiracy theories and civilizational populist parties and social movements. Annovi collaborates also with CeSI (Centre for International Studies), a think tank based in Rome, as an analyst in national and European projects regarding radicalization and violent extremism.
Annovi graduated with honors in Languages, Cultures, and Societies of Asia and Mediterranean Africa at the Ca ‘Foscari University in 2017. She obtained her M.A. degree with a special academic mention from the University of Turin with a thesis focusing on Tunisian jihadism. During her studies, she spent periods abroad in Iran, Tunisia, and France.
