Fabiola Ermer

Fabiola Ermer is a doctoral researcher at the Ben-Gurion Chair for Israel and Middle Eastern Studies at the Hochschule für Jüdische Studien Heidelberg and a doctoral fellow of the Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk (ELES). Her dissertation examines right-wing conservative think tanks in Israel and Hungary as educational actors, asking how their programmes for young adults construct ethnonational conceptions of “the people” and how such civic educational infrastructures contribute to stabilising illiberal hegemonies. Her wider interests include democratic backsliding, ethnonationalism, and transnational national-conservative networks.
