Elpida Dalietou
Elpida Dalietou is a communications specialist, researcher, and youth leader with a strong background in democracy advocacy, cultural diplomacy, and cross-regional policy analysis. Her work spans Europe and Asia, where she has contributed to research on censorship, cultural memory, and civic engagement while supporting international organisations, think tanks, and NGOs. Elpida’s research interests centre on religious and moral discourses in illiberal politics, the role of education and academia in culture wars, and the ways digitalisation and cultural institutions—such as museums—shape national identity and democratic resilience.
Alongside her roles in global youth governance networks and EU-funded initiatives, she has produced policy-driven journalism, coordinated international workshops, and led communications strategies that amplify democratic participation and social impact. She holds a BA in Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting and has pursued extensive training in EU policy, media, and climate governance.
Elpida is particularly committed to comparative perspectives between Europe and Asia and aims to contribute to the Observatory’s mission by exploring how cultural narratives, ideological framing, and educational spaces are mobilised within illiberal movements.
