Greta Martinez

Greta Martinez, born of mixed Italian and Peruvian heritage, was raised in Spain. Her upbringing instilled a deep curiosity about politics and geopolitics due to her diverse background. She pursued a bachelor’s degree in international relations in Rome, followed by a Master’s in European Comparative Law to gain a comprehensive understanding of the European Union’s functioning. Seeking further expertise in migration law, she relocated to Amsterdam for another master’s degree in International Refugee and Migration Law at VU University.
Greta’s interest in migration stemmed from her personal experiences and exposure to migration policies throughout her life. During her time in Rome, she co-founded an NGO named DonnexSrada, which emerged as a prominent organization safeguarding women in Italy. Operating at the intersection of legal and social media realms, the NGO provided legal and psychological assistance to women affected by gender-based violence. Greta played pivotal roles in both the legal team and the social media department, where she honed her skills in writing articles and creating impactful content.
In Amsterdam, she continued her advocacy work by generating social media content focused on migration for the NGO Migreat. Currently, Greta is undertaking an internship at Foundation Child, the premier NGO in Italy for children’s rights, which serves as the international arm of Telefono Azzurro. Working closely with the organization’s president and founder, Professor Ernesto Caffo, she spearheads initiatives such as the International Research Seminar of Children and Adolescent Psychiatry, featuring esteemed psychiatrist Professor Norman Sartorius.
