Iuliana Nyerges

Iuliana (Julia) Nyerges is a master’s student in European Politics at the University of Oxford, with her current research being funded by the ESRC and Snell Foundation. Her research primarily centers on the demand for populism and its connections to democracy and democratic backsliding. Her broader research interests include radicalization, political behavior, Eastern European politics, and quantitative methods. Prior to her studies at Oxford, Iuliana attained a first-class degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Glasgow. Her undergraduate dissertation, which analyzed the impact of globalization on populist consolidation in Central and Eastern Europe, was awarded the prestigious ‘John Fowler’ Best Dissertation Prize.
