Andrea Guidotti

Andrea Guidotti is a master’s degree student specializing in World Politics and International Relations at the University of Pavia (UniPv) in Italy. He completed his B.A. in Contemporary History and Philosophy at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UniMoRe), Italy, where he graduated with a thesis in the philosophy of science exploring the evolutionary origins of religious phenomena. During his studies, he gained valuable experience as an intern with the Consorzio FestivalFilosofia in Modena, Italy.

Andrea is currently an Erasmus exchange student at the University of Ghent (UGent) in Belgium and is interning at the European Center for Populism Studies (ECPS). His ongoing research centers on themes of democracy, (il)liberalism, and the emergence of populist movements in the Western world, with a focus on comparative analysis. Furthermore, his master’s dissertation is dedicated to examining the dynamic relationship between populism and crises, particularly in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
