Editorial Board Member

Dr. David Jeffery is a senior lecturer in British politics at the University of Liverpool, with a broad research focus on British politics. He is currently working on a textbook about local government. His research primarily centers on identity and its influence on voting behavior, with two main areas of exploration: (i) Investigating which local (sub-national) identities are politically significant and how this impacts voting behavior. (ii) Analyzing the voting behavior of elected parliamentarians and the broader reasons behind their decisions. Additionally, Dr. Jeffery’s work often extends to topics that capture his interest, particularly in relation to voting behavior and the political history of Liverpool. He is the author of Whatever Happened to Tory Liverpool?, published by Liverpool University Press, and is involved in developing the Merseyside Local Election Results Project, a database compiling local election results from across the region.
