Dr. Eser Karakas

Dr. Eser Karakas is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Strasbourg, where he teaches Law and Economic and Economics of Public Issues at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques.
He was a Professor of Economics at the University of Istanbul between 2014 and 2016 and Head of the Department of the European Union at the College of Business Administration at Bahçeşehir University between 2010 and 2014. He worked as the Dean of the College of Business Administration at Bahçeşehir University between 2000 and 2006 before he became the Vice President-Provost at the same university between 2006 and 2010. Dr. Karakas was a Professor of Public Economics at the University of Istanbul between 1986 and 1996. He received his Ph.D. in Public Finance from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Istanbul in 1986. He earned a Master of Economics from the same university in 1981.
Dr. Karakas’s main research interests are public economics, public choice, public finance, European finances, public policy, law and economics, and good governance. His work has been published in journals such as Public Economics, Public Choice, and European Union Budget.
